TELT FACTS

All of our tallow is sourced locally right here in Humboldt County on the beautiful Northern California coast. The beef animals that supply our nutrient rich gold are raised and grown on surrounding local ranches with abundant grass, sun, and water due to our incredible coastal microclimate.

It is difficult for most geographical areas to produce grass-fed and grass-finished beef to completion but it is a unique strength of our county due to high rain fall and moderate coastal temperatures.  

We use only the more difficult to obtain vitamin rich suet fat that is sourced from around the internal organs versus the trim fat. All tallow is meticulously hand processed and rendered by one of our founding sisters and her husband.

It doesn’t get any more regenerative or eco-friendly than utilizing a local resource that would normally be a waste product. It takes a lot of time, love and effort to get it to the beautiful liquid gold that we call Telt. We are so very passionate about sharing it with you!
